Sunday Scene

Someone has finally put this guy in his place:

and it took some African women to to it.

In other happenings, Limbaugh calls Obama a "blank canvas" that you can fill in with any of your dreams and he will promise that they come true.

In Minnesota it looks like Al Franken will be the Democratice candidate for the Senate. Some of the party faithful fear he will be seen as a joke. You know, kind of like making Jessie Ventura your Governor!

There has been a new call for gun control in Illinois. It's funny how this happens after someone shoots up a school or a mall, taking numerous innocent lives. I don't think we have enough public places we are willing to sacrifice before everyone finally accepts the notion that a nation armed with assult weapons may not be the best idea.

Notice I'm not against handguns and shotguns in general. I do think however that background checks for any firearms purchase should include a peek at the mental health of the individual.

In a related matter, a wilderness expansion bill is in limbo because Republicans have added an amendment to allow individuals to bring loaded guns into our National Parks. The amendment, sponsored by Sen. Tom Coburn of Oklahoma was co-sponsored by Presidential candidate John McCain. A Coburn spokesmen says that any attempt to avoid a vote is an attempt to protect Hillary Clinton from a tough vote at the expense of the second amendment.

There are so many things I could say about this type of crap but I'll just leave it alone because I would rant for days on end and you wouldn't read it all anyway.

On the lighter side.......

New York Police said they arrested the 45-year-old employee Friday evening after receiving complaints that he was driving erratically in the park in Lower Manhattan. He faces charges of reckless endangerment and intentional injury to an animal. Three pigeons and two seagulls were killed.

I'll bet he was slated to clean up some well targeted statues in the park.
